George Gilder: Your brushing Harmonic (HLIT) aside is a surprise. From what I know of the company it would seem to fit into your areas of interest a bit more that the side box discussion reflects. HLIT has an interesting test going in delivering data over cable to improve two way data transmission, a satellite communication subsidiary doing some interesting things in Europe - for example. And the addition of DivCom from C-Cube broadens its potential. May well become a major supplier to both AT&T's cable arm and AOL-Time Warner's "road runner". Suggest it is worth another look. While your letter is most valuable for the broad discussions of technological trends, rightly or wrongly, your letter is now carefully examined under a microscope and every word weighed. That may be unfair but that is the real world now. The price of fame. As a result your remark in passing about HLIT may damage that company. Doubt that was your intent. Would appreciate any clarification you might care to make after some further checking. Respect and best regards, Chaz
