I would venture to say that the majority of Wall Street pros and small investors do NOT recognize strategic advantages right away, at least not in $$ terms. They will, however, immediately react to analysts estimate cuts, rating changes or price increases/decreases, etc.

As an individual investor, I am trying to make money based upon rational thinking (e.g. the fundamentals) as well as the irrational (e.g. market inefficiencies due to time lag of information dissemination such as what we just discussed).
