George Gilder: Here is a post on the Harmonic thread that needs a response. HLIT is the most cutting edge company around. Lightwire is so advanced it eliminates the need for cable modems and allows for a low cost ethernet connection. HLIT's ability to work with digital video and MPEG is the best in the industry. It makes you wonder if there are other reasons for Gilder to report nonsense like this. Gilder hates TV/CableTV so maybe this distorts his view on companies from this industry or maybe he favors certain companies for reasons other than technology and their ability to execute. Maybe there is some kind of corporate/geographical/investment banking politics coming to play in the companies he recommends. It could be people hoodwinking him, too,I guess.
