You do whatever serves your personal needs, even if it is unjustified
imo.
Ameritrade transferred their confirms to the fastest servers last
week and have solved the confirm problem. I have done 6 market trades since and none took over 3 minutes to confirm . They are
doing additional upgrading today and tomorrow. I believe they have
a great trading format and they are responding to every request I
have made, which have all been responsible and justified comments.
On Thurs. nite I put in two sell at market orders on Jan99 Leaps
against a position I hold long to protect my profit. I placed
two with Etrade also, identical orders. Fri morning they both
confirmed rapidly, but Etrade confirmed at 8.75 while Ameritrade
confirmed at 9.125 . The only reason I can ascertain is that my
order with Ameritrade was stamped earlier than Etrade so the market
maker at Etrade took advantage of the sell orders and downticked. I
really dont call that cheating and I think the use of such language
on these threads makes us all sound like a bunch of novices.
If you really have a time stamped problem, then address it in a
business like manner in writing or at least email. Keep a record of
all ensuing correspondence and submit to the exchange if not satisfied
or just keep transferring your account everytime you have a problem
and contribute nothing to the improvement of online trading.
Good Luck...Gil
