This is an important thread and one I agree with. I was a Republican - proud one, in fact. I worked for Republican legislators. It is no longer the party I knew. I am politically homeless as an NPA, but I’d rather be that then be part of the current GOP.

Today’s GOP stands actively against many of my beliefs. It believes in big gov’t, rejects the rule of law, ignores the Constitution to target political enemies, thinks isolationism works, spends big during prosperity, supports authoritarians like Orban, & lies about basic facts.

Mayo is correct. The Trump MAGA GOP is not conservative. It’s nothing more than a dishonest, immoral grievance party. They care far more about fighting culture wars than actual policy.

The GOP is not a party of morality, integrity, or character. It is a party that fundamentally rejects and actively attacks those things as outmoded and unimportant.
