If a man lives what he truly believes to be a good and moral life, but it is contrary to what one or another of the "major" religions, will God punish him?

No if the belief is exactly as you say a conviction of good and moral virtue. Remember God welcomes sinners. It is his own that have a moral duty.

Good honest men are hard to find in a world fraught with deception and egoistical dieties wanting to be much better than what they are, which apparently does not measure up. It takes time but you can spot a hypocrite but it takes time for them to expose themselves. These types will twist and use every means at there disposal to cast doubt on others. No guilt feelings that they are passing "wives tales" due to "Wicked Pride"...

Maybe that would be good topics. "Wives Tales" and "Wicked Pride"

:-)
