Pay attention... out of the 55% that finally got it through their thick skull that this war is a disaster, less than one in 20 are willing to do anything about it... not even writing a letter. How many times do you hear people talking about Iraq in social situations? Me, none, unless I bring it up, and then people look at me as if I was discussing something very distasteful and inappropriate for gentile discussion.
Nobody cares. They care about the price of gas, they care about the latest hollywood gossip, they care about home prices, they care if their IPod is up to date, how their schools are doing, what's next on the next "reality" show. They don't care that 10 Marines were killed in Iraq yesterday.
