Boris, a cure for AIDS will not put Agouron out of business. The premise of the company is structure-based design, which is being applied to other serious and chronic diseases. I echo others here in saying that I would contribute significant funds to developing a cure for HIV, particularly if it were easily made and could be distributed world-wide to areas where HIV is endemic, without profit to any company. In a healthy world, I will make my money back on investments in the productivity of human beings. The meaning of Viracept, and other drugs, is that more people will be alive to benefit from a curative drug or vaccine, when it is developed. I do not wish for that day to be delayed, and I do not wish for other treatments to fail. Agouron is a strong company and will be so after HIV is eradicated.
