The economic issues are paramount in my mind. I am very distressed at so-called conservatives who spend like there is no tomorrow, who propose entitlement programs like the Rx benefit, for instance, which are fiscally irresponsible in the extreme. The failure to regulate Wall St., the blind eye at cronyism in the financial arena, the failure to take a stand against easy credit, etc., will have repercussions beyond our lives. It is not as if they did not know. Mostly GOP, mostly W asleep at the switch. Ersatz conservatism, in my mind, not what I have in mind when I think 'conservative.' I think we blew a chance to truly lead the world after 9/11. We had an opportunity which was wasted.
