Jim Mullen caught some more of Q&A and e-mailed me his notes for SI:

Thanks for your notes on conf. I was able to hear all of the Q&A.
q#2- Reliance investment update- Contingent on placing orders was slowed in part because of death of Reliance owner. Expect to begin funding as orders are placed.

q#3- Chip outlook for Dec qtr- Normally Dec qtr is lower than Sept because of push for Christmas sales in Sept. This year may be different because of 1X ramp and China growth.

q#4- Top mfgs of CDMA phones- Samsung, Mot, LG, Toshiba, Sony, Nokia.

q#5- 450 market- China rural market first, with potential for global market.

q#6- GPS1- Outside of CDMA market probably not a major source of revenue. However, BREW services built on GPS1 will grow substantially. JAVA compliments BREW and works well on BREW,

q#7- QCHAT- Sold to Nextel and will co-market together. Expect commercial services in 2003. Not available to PCS or VZ in US. Other alternates available, but not as good as QCHAT.

q#8- QSI- $800M remaining commitments. Why exclude from proforma? (long answer)- need to invest in future promotion of CDMA declining in importance as CDMA becomes more established. Pegaso- expect to close soon, with $400-500M coming back to QCOM.

q#9- EV-DV, why QCOM apparent reluctance to push development?- QCOM not heavily advocating DV at this time as they don't seen a big payoff soon as will be the case with EV-DO. DV should roll-out in 2005.
