ERCs latest annual report suggests they have so many patents for molten carbonate as to virtually exclude the competition, as I recall. I see the United Technologies and now GLE.TO use solid oxide and claim great results. I wonder how molten carbonate stacks up against solid oxide for fuel cells. It also sounded like ERC had already conducted a lot of research with solid oxide before selecting molten carbonate.

I also like MKTY, a patriotic thing, and like their connection to GE Power Systems as long as MKTY remains in the drivers seat. But I believe ERC has a definite advantage for efficiency, fuel diversity, and demonstrated operating life.

I would like to hear others comments relative to molten carbonate versus solid oxide.
