Too bad this announcement isn't a few weeks off, it would give the grifters time to convince each other it is about zero.

Notice the spelling of "program". Could this have been written in corroboration with someone in Australia?

Ford expected to make fuel economy announcement Thurs.

DETROIT, July 26 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F - news) Chief Executive Jac Nasser is scheduled to make a ``major announcement'' on Thursday, which environmental groups said is expected to involve voluntarily improving the automaker's fuel economy.

Representatives at Ford, the world's No. 2 automaker, declined to comment further on an advisory about Nasser's address to the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

Officials at the Union of Concerned Scientists said they understood the announcement to centre around fuel economy issues.

William Clay Ford Jr., chairman of Ford Motor, has made environmental responsibility a priority for the automaker that his great grandfather founded.

In May, the company issued a corporate citizenship report that acknowledged its top-selling sport utility vehicles created a dilemma for a company that strives to be at the forefront of fuel economy and emission-cutting.

Two years ago, Ford launched a programme to make all of its sport utility vehicles and Windstar minivans in the United States and Canada low emission vehicles starting in the 1999 model year. It later added the F-Series full-size pickup truck to the programme.
