Terry,
First,I suggest you ask Paul Engel on the Intel thread for an authoritive answer. He's an E.E.,knows all there is to know about Intel products(past, present and future) and answers all manner of questions every day.

Next,I believe the new Windows NT will have a Windows 95 interface .I think 150 Mhz will be a dinosar real soon and I believe I read somewhere that MMX will be backwards compatable to the Pentium Pro 200Mhz.Are these for work, home or both?I'd hold out until MMX was out as well as DVD if possible.Intel is presenting MMX as the biggest breakthrough since the 386.If you have to buy soon also consider the Cyrix 6x86,it gotten a lot of good press in Byte and PC Magazine, etc. as actually outperforming equivalent pentiums for less cost and will pop right into a pentium architectured motherboard.

Dell's computer systems seem to consistantly get rated the highest for performance, reliability and service at a reasonable price.Check out the most recent PC Week.or the Computer shopper for reviews.(ZD Net on the web)Quantex comes out with high quality very fast systems and the lowest price but they're a notch below Dell in reliability and service. You might want to check out www.quantex.com for some system specs and prices ,keeping in mind they should be cheaper in August.

Did you check out Marshall's post?So D-day has already arrived!!!

Only possible long term problem Strat could cause is if it went bankrupt and Lyle got sucked under when it sank.Other than that it would just create another buying oppurtunity.Otherwise buying oppurtunities could be over for quite a while very soon.

Terry, make sure you get plenty of RAM.The more the better.Jim Leon might have some good ideas about what's the best system to get.

Go IBM!!(Terry's "corns")
Dennis
