The most interesting contrast between Obama and Palin is that both have been in office for about 13 years; both entered an entrenched and corrupt system. But Palin took resigned over ethics, then battled and won against some of the biggest operators in the state, having to battle both party establishments to become governor. Obama got along by going along. He's a protegee of Mayor Daley and Emil Jones.

ps. did you see that the NYT says the Obama campaign was so completely surprised by the Palin pick that they haven't even done oppo research on her? They had a bunch of ads prepared to run against Romney or Pawlenty. Now they're scrambling.
