To all: Tuesday January 13, 2:40 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT-Micron upgraded to buy SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - NationsBank Montgomery Securities said that analyst John Joseph upgraded Micron Technology Inc to a buy from a hold. A spokeswoman said that Joseph also raised earnings estimates, but no further details were available at this time. Traders said Micron shares were surging on the upgrade, which they said was likely related to an upswing in memory chip prices. Micron is one of two U.S. chip makers that manufactures DRAM (dynamic random access memory) chips. Shares of Micron continued their climb from last week, gaining 3-04/16 to 31-15/16 in very active trade on the NYSE.
