10:49 ET Sector Watch: Semiconductor : Very impressive performance in the sector has underpinned the Nasdaq today. Stocks in the group providing leadership include: ALTR (+6%), MU (+5.7%), AMAT (+5.%), LLTC (+5.2%) and KLAC (+4.9%). Next resistance for the SOX index (currently at 678) is at 695 (April high/200 day simple ma). Given the extent of this morning's sprint it would not be surprising to see a correction develop over the very short term but it takes a slide all the way back below the 660 area to inflict any damage. A breach of 695 would open the door for a retest/breach of the May high (710).
