Even most of Westchester County, NY, is expensive now. So I know my situation isn't unique. D.C., NY, the Bay Area, L.A., etc. Yes my house in the DC area would sell for over $300k, and its a townhouse in one of the cheaper areas of Fairfax County. But still most of the country has prices that are much lower than the areas on your list.
