Do you remember the fight for Wildsky? Rep. Pombo of Cali kept the bill in committee when it was first proposed, and liberals went nuts, denigrating all republicans as haters of the forest, of all things wild and scenic and just generally stereotyping them in general as the hateful creatures they love to smear.

Our liberal friends just loved the mockery, and didn't hesitate to point out how despicable it was to oppose such a glorious thing. And said that anyone who did oppose the bill should be run out of town on a rail, even though a lot of the people who did oppose the creation of the Wildsky Wilderness area are descendants of the people that started the towns that would be most affected by its passage.

Didn't matter.........it was for humanity and special interests like hikers, and climbers and rock hounds and tree huggers. And they made it sound like you'd be considered an idiot for standing in the way of the all knowing "environmentalists" and those sensitive and compassionate people that supported passage.

I'm so happy to say, I got a chance to straighten out the issue with our liberal friends when the subject came up again this weekend. One said this: "everyone wanted the bill to pass"

Well..........I said..........

"no........everyone did not want the bill to pass."

And I said: some people did not want the bill to pass, and Rep Pombo was their spokesman. I told him that this is America, and we all deserve representation regardless of the fact that some people despise that concept. And that the opposition deserved as much say as anyone, and had the right to freely speak of their concerns without being demonized by intolerant zealots.

As usual, he got this blank look in his eyes and walked off.

You cannot talk to these people. They are incapable.

I'm starting to think lefties are born with an anti-irony gene. They just don't see it in behavior like this.

Michael Savage is right.............it's a mental disease.
