It was a memorable election. Against the background of our oleaginous incumbent governor, we had three good replacement candidates. Just before the final televised debate, Palin was polling slightly ahead of Knowles, with Halcro a distant third. During the debate, Halcro ambushed Knowles with a verbal sucker punch that drained the air out of the former governor. Palin was superb and won the election 48/41/10.

Palin would likely have won anyway, but I think Halcro's hit gave her an extra 2% or so. Ironically, Andrew Halcro is now the nemesis blogger who broke the news that launched the Palin ethics investigation.
