Kasan (A cube customer), Namsung Partner for Digital Storage Package ÿ 12/11/97 Korea Economic Daily Comline Daily News Financial Markets COMLINE NEWS SERVICE (Copyright C (1997) COMLINE Business Data, Inc) ÿ Kasan Electronics set up an alliance with another venture company specializing in speakers, Namsung, which will allow them to provide a digital video disk ( DVD ) player and digital speakers in a package at much lower prices. The package for the next-generation data storage medium for video, audio and computers will consist of a DVD board, a six-channel AC-3 decorder, a DVD -ROM drive, and an AC-3 speaker. An official at Kasan Electronics said that they will be able to offer the DVD package at 630,000 won (approximately $680), which is one-fifth the normal prices.
