Hi Shieldsg: Well that getting your profits is what it's all about
as you know I'm not long..I got very little tech I'm long on,
only ones that already been beat down a lot, and I feel it will
take them a while to come back. I like cheap stocks..last year I
bought AMD..when it was below book value. I don't trust stocks
that fly high real quick.
Any way in case you didn't read, "IF" I were long and bullish on
AOL..I think I would have sold her short on this news
( aginst the box )..as my broker tells me I can do such things,
like sell it, but keep it too..that way I'm covered and lose
any gains she makes..untill I buy back, however if she takes
a dive I'v got my profits locked in cheaper than buying puts,
as all I would pay is $12 for each trade..or $24 total..that
is for up to 5000 shares. Sure cheaper than buying puts, and
let me sleep at night too.
Who knows this noise might not amount to a hill of beans.
I bought me some puts..early today, not on the news..I didn't
hear about that till later..I just saw her her signal
her little downdraft thing for the day and was going to day
trade the options, after the news I kept them to see what
gives..I got in them right on her high this morning..
it was just spotting the momentum, I got a little feel for
her on day trading..but still hardly ever know which way she will
go the next day till it gets there, right now it's a guess,
but she could get clobered.
