There she goes again. Somebody flame her, please, for this stupidity.

No one confused Holland for Germany or Dutch for German. We are well aware of the differences and what happened in World War II. Some of us had several uncles we will never meet die in that war to liberate you from the Germans. We don't even know you, and we sacrificed our uncles to liberate you.

Some of us may find it insulting that you suggest we are so ignorant we do not know the difference between Holland and Germany, between Dutch and German. How patronizing!

To suggest that the U.S., or the U.S. and Canada are culturally homogeneous is idiotic! I have spent half my life in the U.S. and half in Europe. Believe me, North America is as culturally diverse as Europe.

I submit to you that you should shed some of your niave stereotypes about people who live in North America, if you really want to demonstrate a sensitivity to cultural differences.
