Moses lifted up the serpent and all that looked on the serpent did not die. Likewise, we who look upon Christ as becoming sin for us shall not die. We have all been snake bit. We have all sinned. And we all need Gods remedy for our sins , past present and future.

Sum it up in two sentences. first because He chose to do so, He is God, and secondly because He wants us to know Him, to hear what He has to say. To fellowship with Him. To be eternally connected with Him with a bond that cannot be broken.
