Same could be said for bush in this lame attempt to defend the wmd argument. David Kaye gave them a way out. Perhaps the wmds are in syria, perhaps the iraqi scientists told saddam what they wanted to hear--whatever?? there are many ways to expain this and fess up for acting on bad intel. If you fess up, you can be forgiven, no? If you keep beating a very dead horse, folks will turn away from you and you will be in the "crying wolf" category. So which one is dumber?
As for the southern strategy or lack of it, the dems need only take state Tennessee and they win. And there other non-deep south border states in play as well as a few of the midwest states. The better question is what states will the republicans add to their list. There better be a few to offset the several they may lose. Mike
