Have been a lurker on this thread for about a year but interest in this contract has made me break my silence.
I read with great interest the press release the other day concerning T-Mobil and Ericsson.
I am particularly interested in what kind of services GPRS will produce in a GSM network. I have checked the ERICY home page and have gathered the following information:

General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) will increase the data-rate possible over GSM to 115kbit/s, and higher, enabling operators to offer highly efficient data access to corporate LANs and the Internet.
EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution) will extend wireless access speeds to 384kbit/s. Adding WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) air interface to the GSM core network will provide multimedia access at up to 2Mbit/s.

However, this doesn't really tell me what I want to know.

I would like to ask if anyone on the thread has any idea where I can get more concrete information about what actual applications and services will be available when this system comes into effect.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

HH

P.S. I have also mailed ERICY to see what they say about it.
