"Belief in God could turn out to be a gene or a chemical.

What if it we find out it is a virus that gets spread by people like Jesus? Would that be bad or good? Would it invalidate the beliefs of those who carried it? What if the volcano virgins were the result of viral mutations? Are the guilty exonerated because they had a disease? Send them to treatment and release them?
