We can't afford to led Iraq disintegrate. The Shia want a theocracy, the Kurds want their own state, and the Sunnis are going to get screwed anyway, along with secular Shia & women. The Kurds will do OK. We might as well promote the most likely stable outcome now, rather than get dragged there ass backwards.

At least the Kurds will have Democracy, although it can't really be claimed to be Arab. And they will happily sell us their oil.
