Hitachi which is a partner in Xanavi is buying Trimble's Sierra chipset for their car navigation product. Nokia so far is not using GPS but is looking at the E911 mandate and hedging it's bets. As far as I know Sierra is the smallest GPS solution on the market. Chances are that Trimble will lead the development of the next generation of GPS chip(sets). IMO odds are against SiRF.
