In today's show, Bob talked a little about small caps. He said there were 2 schools of thought about when they would start to outperform - 1) after there is a future correction/bear market or 2) that the recent intermediate term correction would be the trigger.

In either case, he was correlating a change in which sector of the market performed with a market correction. In the Mar '96 correction, we also saw a sector rotation, then to big techs.

So is a market correction necessary for a sector rotation? Is this the "purpose" of an event as irrational as a correction?

Anyone have some thoughts on this?
