It's the slam at the French that is objectionable Well France HAS been the leader in this bashing of Bush.. One has to ask if it were Bill Clinton doing "his own thing" (as he was wont to do from time to time), would there have been as much of an outcry? I certainly wouldn't be making comments like claiming I'm taking comfort in the deaths of American soldiers merely because I might want Clinton to lose. I wouldn't even do that were Gore president. The bottom line is that the US is going to be involved in Iraq for years to come. We're going to be involved in the Middle East for years to come. Bush might not be President for another term. So what's the plan going to be when American soldiers are dying under some other president's watch? One think I don't play politics with are the lives of our soldiers. There are times when all of us might not approve of why they were sent someplace, but when they are there, I want them to win. I want them to know this is no longer about who's President, or whether he's a schmuck or idiot.. It's about their having the entire force of the American national will behind them to accomplish their mission and come home as quickly and safely as possible. It's about putting our differences aside FOR THEIR SAKE.. Because they are pawns in this international power game. And it REALLY hurts them when people like Michael make the kinds of statements he makes. He's damn lucky I don't take that post and ship it to every potential photographic customer who might be interested in his work... Hawk
