eng -Couple of articles sort of concerning

1. That NOK has tested a full W-CDMA system and is ready to sell it? Forget the royalty issue for the moment I had thought that there weren't currently any working W-CDMA systems.

2. ERICY in Australia says that Australians will have video mobile phones in 02 and get this about a year or eighteen months ahead of the US. ( Article posted on the other thread by RS yesterday).

These issues surely can't be in these companies imagination can they?

My guess is that until the mist covering the two or three technologies is cleared a bit Q is going to suffer. What will happen if the earnings are just mediocre? Wait till the Jan earnings in February?

I think the market will wait to see real solid evidence of the breakout of either or indeed both of the cdma flavours until it gives the Q another run and if it doesn't run then it will be weak. Too many people just didn't like the huge growth last year and many professionals must have taken their revenge by shorting it all the way down. My guess is they haven't gone away as they sense mediocrity in the upcoming earnings and then they'll take some more.

This picture may not become clear for over a year till the 1X and later chips get taken up en-mass by the public.

Best regards,

L
