Oooo, now here's a juicy one. How did you miss this? >>Perincek: U.S. Gave 125 Million Dollars To P.K.K.

Anadolu Agency: Monday, January 06, 2003

ANKARA - Labour Party (IP) leader Dogu Perincek gave testimony on Monday to Ankara State Security Court (DGM) Chief Prosecutor about his claim that ''the U.S. gave 125 million dollars to terrorist organization PKK.''

Ankara DGM Prosecutor Cengiz Koksal got information from Perincek about the claims he voiced in his news conference on Sunday.

Responding to questions of journalists after leaving DGM, Perincek said that he got the information that the U.S. transferred source to the terrorist organization PKK, from reliable Russian and Yugoslavian sources. Noting that Russia and Yugoslavia are against a possible operation of the U.S. to Iraq for the stability of the region, Perincek said that this also closely concerns the security of Turkey.

Upon a question, Perincek said that his Yugoslavian source was former Yugoslavian Chief of General Staff Nebojsa Pavkovic, but he didn't give the name of Russian sources.

Perincek said that Pavkovic also warned before the killing of associate professor Dr. Necip Hablemitoglu that ''there would be assassinations in Turkey,'' adding that ''this information which has been given by friends of Turkey is true.''

Perincek claimed in his news conference on Sunday that Russian state sources announced that the U.S. gave 125.33 million dollars to PKK from 500 million dollars it allocated in its secret fund to be given to Northern Iraqi organizations in its fight with Iraq.<<

Nebojsa Pavkovic is a Milosovic ally, but why shouldn't he be believed? Funny how they call him Yugoslavian instead of Serbian, though.
