OT OT OT Mark, Re: I think Americans need to send a strong message, both through the polls and the upcoming Vote, to our leaders. That protection of what America stands for & the Constitution should come first. It strikes me that 50% of the population will take this a cue to vote the bums out....and the other 50% to make sure we stay the course. ********* Re: I am not a Scholar of the Law or the Constitution, so perhaps my Unease has no solid Foundation in Reality. There appears a Pattern of Changes taking place, which erode Individual Protections and Freedoms in the name of Security. Well, of course. Millions of us share this same apprehension about the current band of swindlers in charge in Washington. But we ought to keep things in perspective. America is prone to serial bouts of abdication of basic civil liberties. The Alien and Sedition Act of 1798 was just the start. Then we have Lincoln's infamous repeal of Habeus Corpus during the Civil War, the Palmer Raids after WW I, the HUAC and McCarthy Era, COINTELPRO and now the newly minted and deviously named USA PATRIOT ACT and ACT II, the leaked and now unpopular Domestic Security Enhancement Act. Hey, it's all a Act. Don't worry be happy.
