Robert, I tried out DBC StockEdge, and it has a LONG way to go to match the RealTick III software, used by PC Quote 6.0, Comstock on the Net, and Intersat.

RealTick does have it's problems - in particular, an intolerance for network errors (it locks-up while it is having transmission difficulties) and an inability to handle fast trading. (Again, it can lock-up and become useless.)

But in terms of charting flexibility, number of stocks you can watch (I watch over 1000 with my own Scammer software - at stockclub.com - I am finally doing more work on this, and will be coming out with a new beta soon) and general utility, RealTick III is going to be very hard for any new software to beat.

Perhaps Townsend's new ActiveX-based software will be better.

Hint: do NOT install the free Townsend ActiveX software available at www.cme.com (even if it is tempting to try to get a look at the new software!) if you have a current RealTick III installation! I had to remove it and re-install RealTick III after doing so! It goofed up my current installation mightily.
