Re the comments about VBI and DTV and WAVO, I beg to difer. Wavephore has already developed the techniques to broadcast information along with the digital signal. In a previous post I mentioned that Wavetop Versions 1&2 were currently being broadcast but that versions 4&5 were ready for rollout. Wavetop possesses the technique to broadcast at much higher bandwidths in the analoq bandwidth as well as to send their info via a digital broadcast. Wavephore's technology is not the limitation, the equipment to send (the broadcasters) and the equipment to receive (the households) are the limiting factor.
The key to Wavephore as a stock is not the broadcasting technology, (they have any broadcast technology that will be required), the key is programming. That is why the appt of Tom Kozik to the head of Wavetop is so important. The company is building its programming skills as we speak. (they are hiring people from Yahoo! and Broadcast.com as we speak- which may be why the rumor has started about a combination). Wavetop is compatible with a programmer since programming is what drives viewership and thus revenues. A programmer/content provider would want a broadcast distributor of information in order to widen the scope of their viewership. Hope this helps.
