Healtheon's entree into virtual healthcare networks and Amazon's investment in closely held drugstore.com has prompted me to search for other similar companies entering the internet and leveraging their existing business. Coram Healthcare (CRH-$1.875) announced today that they are entering into the "E-Commerce" market by selling pharmaceutical products, supplies and services over the internet. Coram already has an established patient base of 40,000 members so it should be able to leverage up its existing base easily. Apparently these patients who already have a strong relationship with Coram can buy other medical products through them. CRH only trades at $1.875 and announced they made 2 cents for the fourth quarter. Perhaps Amazon may take a stake in these guys too or something.
