<<<Let's say the Flower's incident was good enough to put behind, but how do you explain the draft and the marijuana lies? Especially the draft. The man said he "loathed the military!">>>

It's very simple. As for marijuana, Mr. Clinton knew that the majority of the voting populace would be baby boomers and that generation could relate to marijuana use. Either they themselves tried it or hung out with those who have. So simply claiming that he had tried it once and never inhaled was another sin of ommission that worked. The impression that most people got was he had told the truth because why would someone make up a lie like that. Mr. Clinton is an absolute expert in using a lie to pose as the truth. As for the draft, the same thing holds true. You said yourself that it was a war we should never have been in thus Americans could easily dispel his opposition to it. Many of the voting population probably did not agree with it or may have protested it themselves so Mr. Clinton was close to their heart. I could be wrong about this but I believe that Mr. Clinton's wording was that he could see how someone could grow to loath the military due to our action in Vietnam. Trust me, I don't like it any more than you do but that is all that I can see to explain it.

I don't know how old you are but I vividly remember that Richard Nixon had a very wide spread support base with the American people all through the Watergate hearings. It wasn't until the tapes were revealed that America woke up. The same is happening to Mr. Clinton now. Think about it this way, look what is happening to him now and this is before the Starr report has even been submitted to Congress. Do you really think that it will get better after that. It could, but I doubt it.
