I had a problem with Win 98SE about 6 months ago...it got to the point that I couldn't get into windows without booting into safe mode. I reinstalled w98 right over my original...was pretty easy...I just followed the pop up screens and clicked okay...took care of my problems.

Not saying that this is the best approach for you or anyone else...just that it worked for me.

Q. How do I reinstall Windows 95/98/Me without reformatting my hard drive? A. Put your Windows CD in your CD-ROM drive and using Windows Explorer double click setup.exe in your "D" (?) drive. Follow the instructions.
