I agree with that. But things change.

Palin was clearly a fairly cynical political move designed to fire up the base and attract women voters who don't care for Obama because he ousted Hillary, qualifications, experience, etc., be damned.

If your view of politics is win at all costs, it was a terrific move on McCain's part. If, on the other hand, you think as I do that this transcends politics and that he had an obligation, given his age, to pick someone a lot more qualified, then it was a terrible thing.

And given her performance thus far, the choice might turn out to hurt him.

We'll see.
