Ibexx & All, re: Marimba & Microsoft proposed standards

Thanks much for posting the article.

IMO, this partnership is important in and of itself, as a further projection of the standards that would benefit Microsoft's vision of networks and/or the Intenet. Less obvious perhaps is the nature of this standard: it further separates Java the language from Java the operating environment, and instead substitutes the Microsoft approach of Java applications intermingled in a multilanguage environment. The success of this approach would be to the benefit of Microsoft, with its powerful multilanguage development and operating environment, and to the detriment of those who are frantically trying to halt Microsoft's advance.

I was not aware that Marimba's founders were all ex-Sun persons. I guess they have learned who best to do the hot-cha-cha with. < g >

Best regards,
Arno

[P.S. Ibexx - God, it's great to be able to exchange posts on something other than Fang's bizarre prediction du jour. Wasn't he a Soupy Sales' co-star, or married to Phyllis Diller, or something?]
