I think what Ballmer's saying is that the Windows2000 gravy train doesn't start until next year and may not peak until a year after that. However, they're slighting the 30% lead Office2000 has over Office98 during the same period, which could be huge for revenue. As usual, they're focusing on worst case to control expectations. (yawn)

Maybe there will be a lull for the next 6 months...but maybe not. I'm sure the day traders will discuss same ad-nauseum. On the other hand, the 2 year outlook could hardly be more solid.
