A recent Neilsen survey reports that by far the largest increase
in new users of the Internet is coming not from home but via
access from work, school, libraries, etc.

To the extent that people get educated about the Internet in that
way, the value of AOL's `Internet for dummies' packaging diminishes.

Then there's colleges, where the Internet has become part of the
very fabric. Colleges graduate 800,000 a year -- the largest single
source of formation of new households.

And, of course, the Internet itself is becoming easier and easier
by the day. Just look at the development of Yahoo.

Why is Motley Fool investing big to move to the web?

AOL's proprietary content requirements are becoming a huge achilles
heel.
