I buy Brass rivets, a couple of thousand at a time.
I think they are $70.00 us wholesale.
It seems fine for what I get.
Most commodities go through a full list of different hands; manufacturers and dealers that all want a profit from it .
Buy the time it gets to us the price has exploded.
A rule of thumb is that hard goods manufactured in North America that cost a buck to make, out the door, will cost $4.00 retail in the store.
Even at that, most small companies in the manufacturing, distribution and retail bus work hard for their money and many throw in the towel.
Why !! because the competition from Asian products is taking all the fun out of it.
They are used to working for nothing.
And we are fast learning to expect the same.
