There may be invisible 'control characters' in the content from the
web or URL. The control characters may be getting there because
the digital line is corrupting the web pages as they are coming
to you. Then, the control characters are preventing successful
uploading.

What you should try to do is paste the contents of a web page
or url into an editor and save the file locally, then examine
the file with some sophisticated program that can display
control characters.
