I went out last night to play some guitar w/ a friend and it was raining. Raining in Minnesota and it is nearly January. We have no snow on the ground and looking at the lake, the ice has honeycombed after having frozen solid during that bitter cold snap which if memory serves happened back in late November. Normally by now, small icehouse communities have formed out in the bay and people are driving out to them w/ their cars and trucks. Instead, small portable icehouses and pedestrian traffic is all that the ice can presently hold. Maybe an ATV, but I certainly wouldn't chance it at this point.

My childhood memories of big snowdrifts are nearly forgotten. We have not had a 'real' winter in Minnesota for several years.
