but suffice it to say that eligability varies state to state... and acess can also be denied at the point of service.

Then it's a local problem.

Right now I'm staying in my Dad's apartment in an independent living retirement complex in Arizona. There are lots of people here whose rent is subsidized through HUD Section 8, including my aunt. She has to re-qualify each year. When money gets tight, the state jiggers the amount that they subsidize but she still gets a subsidy.

Choose your state wisely...
