Here's the scoop on 'Cavalry' CEO of Scandia Racing - I think:
Off the track, the 46-year-old Evans has been a professional investor for over 20 years and has participated in most phases of the securities business as a trader, broker, and investor in both public and private offerings.
Evans' education led him into the financial services industry, but the racer inside him broke out in 1982 when he started competing in the Sports Car Club of America series (SCCA). He was a consistent top 10 finisher in the Sports 2000 ranks in 1984-85 and was a consistent top five finisher racing showroom stock from 1986-1988 with a first-place finish in the 12 Hours of Mid-Ohio. Evans competed in the Jaguar Inter-Continental Challenge, run in conjunction with F1 races in Monaco, Silverstone, and Spa. Evans finished second in Camel Lights at the 1992 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and fourth in the Camel Lights Driver Championship. Moving up to IMSA's World Sports Car in 1993, Evans took wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Watkins Glen, Road America, Portland, and Phoenix. etc, etc...
He has his own SI Thread - Calvary's Shortbusters. He seems to be on the side of the longs. Subject 22771
