Ross Systems Announces General Availability for Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3
ATLANTA, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Ross Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROSS), the leading provider of ERP systems to the mid-tier process manufacturing market, today announced general availability for Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3, Ross' fully integrated, maintenance management system. Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3 provides significant new capabilities and enhancements in usability, integration and preventive maintenance management, which enhance an organization's ability to reduce capital equipment costs while maximizing equipment life and efficacy.
"Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3 is proof of our commitment to maintaining our leadership in the process manufacturing marketplace," said Don Campbell, Ross' vice president of worldwide marketing. "Having maintenance management fully integrated as a key component of our enterprise resource planning offering provides tangible benefits to organizations. For example, if a manufacturing schedule shows a production run, yet the capital equipment requires proactive maintenance, the system can give management ample warning to make informed decisions accordingly."
The latest release of Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3 includes the following capabilities and advantages:
-- Preventive Maintenance Triggers: Provides ability to receive, manage
and trend data points to be used in triggering maintenance activities
based on asset and process operational values. These multiple
preventive maintenance triggers provide organizations with the ability
to improve management of preventive maintenance activities.
-- Moving Average Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time Between
Repairs (MTBR): Provides and maintains MTBF and MTBR calculations for
each asset and recalculates at the completion of each work order.
Additionally, enhanced maintenance management reporting for MTBF and
MTBR are available. These calculations allow the user to be more
pro-active in maintenance management, thereby ensuring greater
predictability and effectiveness.
-- EMU/Euro Support: For global companies or companies operating in
Europe, Renaissance CS Maintenance Management Release 4.3 is now EMU
compliant and supports the euro. Since Renaissance CS Maintenance
Management Release 4.3 is integrated with Renaissance CS Financials,
support for the euro provides organizations with the ability to utilize
the new currency in daily transactions such as work orders and purchase
orders. In addition, Renaissance CS has rich conversion capabilities
including the ability to convert historical data, currency-specific
data, and vendor records from current currencies to the euro. The Ross
Systems euro solution uses the official triangulation method for the
triangulation conversion process.
-- Streamlined Management Functions: To help improve productivity and
ease of use for maintenance management users, Renaissance CS
Maintenance Management Release 4.3 streamlines numerous management
functions such as work order search, approval, and completion. These
functions build on the previous release which completely re-engineered
the navigation for intuitive flow and conformance to standards, and
which developed and introduced a robust work order search engine.
Many enterprises miss significant opportunities by running with a mix of business systems with various levels of incompatibility. The goal of a maintenance department is to provide their customers, typically operations, with maximum asset availability at the lowest possible cost. Without tight integration of all information system components, strategic information from one system is never fed to the other system. For example, run time parameters on manufacturing equipment, which should be used to automatically initiate maintenance work on a proactive basis, never makes it from the manufacturing system to the maintenance system. The end result is that maintenance is driven more towards reactive work, invariably incurring higher costs than they would experience if repairs were initiated before the end of an asset's life cycle. By taking advantage of the recent advancements delivered in Ross maintenance solutions, customers are in a better position to take advantage of the efficiencies gained in a single, fully integrated ERP system, which includes maintenance management.
