One of the best aspects of Yahoo finance used to be the message boards. Now they are less accessible than before, and it seems there are far fewer posts, probably for that reason. And they always had a problem with Spam, and still do. The portfolio tracker is far worse than before, despite "improvements."
I find that Seeking Alpha has good bulletin boards. Unfortunately they are keyed to stories and reports, and not the stock. Still you can see some useful, insightful conversations on those boards by looking below the news stories and reports.
I used to use Yahoo for so much: tv schedule, local movie schedule, calendar, chess, finance, news, email. Now I go elsewhere for tv schedule, movie schedule, calendar, news. Yahoo simply stopped chess, which had been popular. I fully expect them soon to burden their email. They have already slowed it down with downloading excess ads. Soon they will probably make you watch ads just to get to your email or improve it so much you don't like it, or make you click through three pages to get to your email.
