I don't know if this has anything to do with what HELE is releasing but I know that Brookstone has been selling a quiet hair dryer for a while. I did have a chance to play with one at one of their mall stores and wasn't very impressed. It was a 1200 watt dryer and my impression was it was quite "wimpy" (drying wise). However, it was quiet and the cost was ~$40.00.
Take a look:
brookstone.com

Now HELE has a 1875 watt dryer and if it is as quiet as the Brookstone model then I think they have a winner on their hands. I agree with Rambi's comment that price point is a major factor. Other things to consider are health (less chance of hearing degradation) and annoyance (waking people up in the morning while drying ones hair). Maybe consumers are willing to pay more for these added benefits. Only marketing can tell.

Good luck,
Dennis
